I've been browsing the forum and noticed a lot of the same questions being asked. I thought it'd be helpful if a lot of the information that was gathered from several members here on the site was centralized in one place. For simplicity's sake, I will try to speak to a lot of the initial and continuing concerns of SCDers ali...

I started slow carb in the beginning on the year, and it has certainly put me through a journey. It has changed my views of food forever, in some ways for the better, and in others for the worse. I started out at about 132 pounds (5'3 woman) and was able to get down to 120, something ive only dreamed of for years. I decided ...

i discovered that I feel 100% better the day after binge day if I eat 100-200gr prunes (depending on body size) as my last snack on binge day. Tim suggest using caffeine as a mild laxative, but that doesn't work for me. I hate feeling bloated and sluggish post binge day and prunes have seemed to fix that problem. They elimi...

Water Retention and Whooshes

Water retention can be a major problem for some when on SCD. With our cheat days, we can retain a LOT of water weight as our glycogen levels are replenished- each gram of carbohydrate holds onto 4 grams of water and each gram of salt can hold onto a pound of water. So it's no wonder that we end up looking and feeling bloat...

I've been on SCD for a few of weeks now. I was feeling rather tired and drained at the beginning - so tried a couple of days on 4 meals per day instead of 3 - this just pushed my weight up so I went back to 3 - but I did manage to go from 88kg to 85kg in the first 11 days! However I have stayed at that weight for over a wee...

Second week in a row that it takes me 3 full days to get down to my pre-cheat day weight (mon, tues, wednes) This morning finally down to 279 again. I have been pushing water like crazy, 1.5-2 gallons a day. But what I wonder is, how long it takes most of you to get over the cheat day weight? Can we make this faster? Afteral...

I've been doing the slow-carb diet for a week now and did the 'geek to freak' exercises twice. According to my body fat scale, my body fat increased from 22% to 27% and my muscle decreased!! How is this even possible? What am I doing wrong? I've been eating really healthy low fat meals with no rice, bread, fruit, whatsoever....

Started 4HB on Monday April 2nd because for as long as I can remember, Mondays have been my "start of a new week" aka "weigh-in day". But after 2 cheat days and 2 Mondays of feeling disappointment at the dreaded scale, I have come to a conclusion. Everything else about my lifestyle has changed, my weight in day should too. ...

I have had 2 interesting things the day after cheat day (or "Anything Day", as I prefer to call it. Mine are on Saturdays). One, I have incredible swelling in my feet and ankles. If I tap my foot, the top of it actually jiggles like Jello! It is bizarre and uncomfortable. I can only guess that because of having more pro...

Which resulted in my highest weight loss and fat loss in a single week. The first week of January I weighed 198. That week I switched it up an...

Tomorrows cheat day! I've lasted 10 days without one. I'm also not eating beans because I want faster results. Started at 165lb, I'm now 152! I won't delude myself though, I'm sure about 5-8 of that is water weight but it's still very motivational! I know I will expect massive fluctuations after cheat day so I'm prepared as ...

Do you guys think its possible to get off SCD for an extended period of time, say, a month, in order to restart its heavy fat loss in the initial diet part? The reason I am asking is because I have plateaued (not losing much on SCD) and the one time I plateaued hard (albeit because of cheating often) and I got back on the d...

I've been yo yo dieting constantly for the last two years, but in the last year I've gone up and down the same 30lbs. I'm currently 130lbs but I have been 228lbs two years ago and way down to 124lbs in July, then up to 160lbs in October, and down to 130lbs by the end of January. And obviously with cheat days , I gain 15lbs...

My 17-year old daughter, 5'5"+- and 152 lbs would like to lose 20-30lbs by graduation in May. I am strongly against weight-loss drugs and gimmicks. So two weeks ago we started the slow-carb diet following Tim's suggestions completely. Absolutely no carbs, fruits, or dairy, or any soft drinks at all. Lots of beans and veget...

I started this diet 6 weeks ago and so far have lost a measly 1lb - which is really ridiculous. I do thoroughly enjoy my cheat days and don't do PAGG or the whole grape/lemon juice thing or the exercises. If you have to do all that then to me it's really not a cheat day. Anyway, I'm completely strict the rest of the wee...
