In The 4-Hour Body Ferriss described the Harajuku moment as "an epiphany that turns a nice-to-have into a must-have." What was your harajuku moment? If you haven't had one, how do you motivate yourself to stay with the diet? I think hearing everyone's different stories would be motivating

Psyched out: What's your typical response to hitting a plateau?

I know I tend to panic a little. Then I up my exercise and start eating less (unconsciously). This just makes the plateau worse since I don't end up eating enough. Going back and reading the book again is helping this time around with staying the course, though. What goes through your head when your weight loss slows down...

Yesterday was my 30th day of tracking my weight, I started the slow carb diet on May 17 at 275.6 lbs and weighed in this morning at 256.8. Yes the scale reads an 18.6 lb loss. However, the moment I started working out a little harder doing Jiu Jitsu and Kettlebell exercises I nearly plateaued in my “weight loss”. Pret...

I have been mainly eating vegetables an fruit and still haven't lost much. Going to start the before and after photos today. 3 day...

This question is for all the women who are on SCD. I know that women retain water before their period and feeling of being bloated is "normal" for most of us. Still, it's really frustrating to see that all the work does not pay off due to the period weight. I think during this time we need most motivation to support ea...

This is a rhetorical question, actually, that has an answer. I have been scratching away for 5 weeks to whittle away a measly 3 pounds. Hovering at one weight for days, then dropping a smidge, then hovering again, etc, etc. At that time 5 wks ago I was at a happy 33.6% BF, down from an initial 40.7%. Good reason to be hap...

Hello fellow 4HB'ers, Approximately 4 weeks ago, I was on Day 24 of my 4HB meal plan. I've since fallen off the wagon and am finding it difficult to stay consistent. I'll start on 4HB meals and make it to only like day 4. Lots of starting and stopping. It's like I've lost momentum. Work and family functions (filipino f...

Anyone out there start the SCD without the supplements and cold showers, then begin them with success? I have never taken supplements and the idea of a freezing cold shower scares me, but I am willing to give it a try if people think their success on SCD was linked to these factors. I am just over 2 weeks into this, and real...

Lately I have been indulging myself in beef, and tons of it. Before, I was buying frozen steaks (NoName's, 6oz cutlets) but now I have been exploring fresh cuts from my local market. I could eat them every single day if I wanted to, but usually stick to about 4 times a week (not including any burrito bowls I get that week. ...

I have been reading many of the wonderful posts on this forum for almost a month now, but never registered as a member. I am in the middle of week 3 of my SCD and have had some great results so far. I have lost 19.4 pounds, about 12 total inches, and am well on my way to incorporating the SCD into my life. My wife is no...
