Life is good!

Hey guys just wanted to give a little encouragement to those out there who are just starting out or struggling to break through a plateau.... today, for the first time since 2010 I saw the scale say a number below 200 for me lol

Today I weighed in at 199.6... i thought it must be a mistake at first but i tried multiple times and it was the weight my scale gave me.

here is a list of my progress, started SCD in the end of Jan:

If you notice I actually didn't do SCD straight through. I started on other diets in Jan (terrible diets I might add lol) and then around Feb time I did SCD and lost 16lbs in 31 days... awesome!

I then decided I didn't want to lose so fast so I decided to switch and for March I followed Occam's Protocol to build muscle. One tweak, I did SCD except for training days which I treated as cheat days and for lunch the next day.

For April I spent 1 week in Dallas and 3 in Japan so I was not doing much diet at all, SCD meals when I could, breakfast etc. but they are a carb crazy nation so it was impossible. But I did work out a lot to make up for it (8 times in the 22 days I was there)

As you can see, I managed to stay at a relatively steady weight while building muscle, felt great.

But I still have fat to go so this month I started on SCD again have been hovering around 205-202 which felt like It would never break... then out of no where I dropped from 202.6 to 199.6 today... unexpected, probably a trick of a scale but I'll take it cuz its the first time i've been below 200 in ages!!!

So just remember, even if the scale isn't giving you what you want, just stick with it because eventually your plateau will break and you will be GLAD you stuck with it :)

Great results, puckoff!! How wonderful to be under 200!!! Congrats!

I want to echo what you've said and encourage folks who hit a plateau to keep plugging away and let it work. I was on a plateau for almost THREE months, but during that time, even though the weight stayed essentially the same, I dropped a pants size! There are a lot of theories out there about "set points", and coincidentally, the weight I was stuck in was a weight that I had been for a long time, years ago. It may have been a set point and my body just had to recalibrate. I have no idea, but I do know that fat loss is VERY complex. If we have it going in the right direction, even with plateaus and blips, we are doing very, very well. The body is an amazing thing, and after years of holding on to so much fat, the fact that I have 52 lbs of it off now (it took a year) is amazing to me! I have no doubt that in this next year, I will have another 50 or so off. I'm 54, so I know that patience is required.

The bottom line is that I FEEL GREAT, I KNOW IT WORKS, and I KNOW I'm getting SO many nutrients that my body needs to be well.

So, to everyone reading this: puckoff and I say: Hang in! Don't be in a hurry! Life IS good!

:-D

I love the detailed weight tracking. I use the daily burn tracker app, and I've found that it keeps me focused on my goals. Great job.

    Thanks your kind words :)

gretchenlin - Remember to not skip the PAGG supplements. If you got down to an old weight you may have "squeezed the fat" out of the fat cells to reach the plateau. The PAGG actually speeds the apoptosis (cell death) so you can reach new levels of physiologic reconfiguration. Good Luck to you!!

Thanks, puck, but I can't take the PAGG. I am on 8 different meds and supplements for rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, and depression and I've heeded Tim's warnings at the end of The Four Horseman. I think it's best for me not to use them, but I do appreciate the info, and others here will as well!
