Collagen as a Protein Source?

I really enjoy the Slow Carb diet. However, the most difficult aspect for me has been getting the 30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking. Therefore, I have been taking two scoops of Isopure's zero-carb protein shakes right when I get up (totaling 50 grams of protein). No problems with results.
Today I purchased a powder supplement for improving joint function. One scoop contains 10,000mg of Arthred (a patented hydrolized bovine collagen).
Since the collagen in one scoop is technically 10 grams of protein, can I cut out one of the scoops of Isopure, and just add the joint improvement powder? Instead of consuming 50 grams of protein, I will now consume 35 grams.
Has anyone experimented with collagen protein in general?
Any advice will be appreciated.
