I have just tried this myself and it feels great.
I saw this post yesterday and was very curious about it so I did some Google searches. I found it is done mainly to improve circulation and flush toxins like lactic acid.
Are there any weight loss applications for hot/cold (contrast) showers?
Also if anyone has more experience with these, is it really helpful for reducing post workout soreness? Are there any other benefits?
I am going to keep trying these before working up to straight cold showers/baths.
Thanks Cathylee for posting about this.

your welcome i do it twice a day in the morning and before bed it really relaxes me big time. and i can stand under the cold longer every time. i dont have a bath tub 3bathrooms and all showers
I do contrast showers after my workouts! I can totally tell the difference in how my muscles feel!!! I do 5 minutes super hot then 5 minutes ice cold for about 5 cycles. Then I end it with 30 minutes of ice cold!!! I have never felt better!!! I do this everyday and totally believe the theories that cold showers burn more fat, cure depression, and strengthen the immune system...I can see and feel the results!!!
wow 30 mins of real cold
i dont know if i could go that long. in the winter now summer thats what im talking about
but i am going to try that 5 and 5 for 5 cycles:)
