Stumbled upon this by accident..or did I?

Hello all!

My name is Angi and I had just started doing ShaunTs Insanity workout when I went to Borders and found this book by accident. I took it home and read all the chapters that pertained to me that first night! I started the diet three days later. Tims suggested being on the diet for at least five days before having a cheat day. My cheat day is Thursday because of my work schedule. I work every weekend and Wed/Thur are the days my hubby and I have off together. So cheat day will always be somewhere around there. My starting weight was 231.7 and I'm 5'9" tall. I lost almost 2 pounds in the first week and it wasn't even a whole 7 days. I'm not hungry. I don't get cravings. I don't feel deprived. It was so much easier to stick to it than I thought it would be. I'm excited! I had gastric bypass two years ago and I wanted to lose 160 lbs. I lost 100 and stopped. I want to lose those last 60 pounds or more if my body allows it. This forum has a lot of great information and I look forward to making some new friends here.

Welcome!! I agree with you, it definitely is easier then I thought too when I started. I am now 8 weeks and still deal with "Can you eat this?" from family and friends, but I love eating this way. I am down about 10 lbs so far, and 8 inches. This website is VERY helpful too!!

Good luck!!

I know what you mean about 'can you eat this?' I'm still dealing with that myself. Was craving hot wings the other day and realized I can have them anyday, I didn't need to have them on cheat day. I just don't bread them and my hot sauce doesn't have any sugars in it. May miss the bleu cheese, but it's all good. I'll have plenty of celery with them! You know what's funny? I'll prepare something for myself just for my diet and everyone else in the house wants to eat it too! I feel like saying, "Hey, I can't have the stuff you can! Why you wanna take my little bit?" Hilarious!

I know, It gets easier! I am still trying to convince family and friends how easy it is to do it,once you get a routine down of what you like to eat. Some family members, complain about how we eat when they invite us over but then if they eat at our house (SCD way) they are the same as your family, (oh can I will have your beans, compared to the pasta you made SPECIAL for us?)

I think people just need to stop thinking that having a processed carb at every meal is normal.

Congrats on your loss so far! I lost 50lbs 2 years ago through counting cals. I'm interested to see how 4HB works.
