Newbie getting started
Hi,
I'm a 28 yo female, 5'9'' and was 220.6 pounds when I started. After my first week on the diet I lost 6.7 pounds and had my first cheat day yesterday where I gained back 4.1 pounds. I'm joining the forum so I can share my story but also be motivated by others! My goal weight is 160 pounds and I'm hoping to make significant progress in the last 4 months of 2011! I hope to be at least to 181 pounds by 1/1/2012.
I really like the diet so far and I feel good doing it. The past week I wasn't hungry all the time, and I wasn't thinking about junk food all the time. I easily resisted office goodies and am very excited about this new lifestyle!

Best of luck to you! Don't get discouraged if the scale doesn't make you happy for a few days, just keep at it and enjoy your cheat days.

Welcome! We're about on the same page--I'm 5'7", 210 and hoping for 160! That first week is great...you'll shed the extra 4 pounds.

GF, you can do this! Can't you see yourself down 35-40# on or before New Year's Day 2012?
I highly recommend taking those before photos, proper measurements, and following Tim's advice on mindset principles.
Now, a super tool Tim gave us to tame any cravings which might creep up is to write down anything that tempts you and declare I am have a ton of this on Dieter's Gone Wild day!
Much love,
Joy

Good work! It's been two weeks for me. My brother and co-worker have lost 30 lbs. doing this diet and still eat to the lifestyle. Congrats on your weight loss! My brother advised me not to weigh myself after cheat day but wait until the following wednesday. I did so this mornign and have no weight gain! I am stoked to see what my weight will be saturday morning.
Good luck!
Hi and thank you! Good job on 2 weeks! I think I'm going to try and follow your advice about weighing myself after cheat day...I weighed this morning and was back down to my pre cheat, cheat day weight at -6.7 pounds. I'm excited to see what my weight will be Saturday too. I'd love to keep in touch

2 weeks and 30 lbs! WOW....
No. 2 weeks and close to ten pounds. The 30 lbs lost was my co-worker and brotherbwho both have been doing this for a few months.

Welcome to the fold!
Yes, it's quite awesome! I'm a 42 yo female, 5'2" and WAS 247 lbs when I started on April 18, 2011. I am now 200 lbs as of last Saturday(hopefully going to ONE-DERLAND here soon!) and I have lost 29".
My ultimate goal is 115 lbs, which means 85 lbs to go!
So, probably by about the year mark or a little past that I should reach it. In the 19 weeks I've been on SCD, I have had only ONE gain (.2 lbs) and have never stalled...slowed down, but NOT stalled!
I do 3 of the 4 Ice Age Techniques. Ice Packs(since the end of May), Ice Cold Water(since the beginning), and Cold Showers(Since the end of July)
Do you have a Facebook account? I have a great support group with other women who are also on SCD/TLM or on their own plan. Let me know via my profile if you are interested.
Thank you so much! Wow CONGRATULATIONS on your success! That is really incredible!! I'm just trying to wrap my head around -47 pounds in 4 1/2 months! That so inspirational!! It's also so motivating that you haven't stalled or really gained! The Ice Age techniques are something I haven't put into effect yet but am looking forward to doing so.
Thanks!
Btw, I made it to ONE-DERLAND today(Friday)...199.4
Hoping for somewhat big losses for tomorrow.
Ice Cold Water upon waking then waiting 20m before eating SC breakfast is the easiest to implement. Cold Packs are a good thing to start too...if you are brave go for cold showers.

I find the scale drives me crazy some weeks.
I take photos every other week, and full body measurements once a week. It tends to keep me saner.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for your well wishes! It's been almost two weeks and just wanted to let you know that I actually DID lose all the cheat day weight by Wednesday morning. I'm down another 1.4 lbs and weighed 212.5 this am. Next week I'm not going to weigh after cheat day and will weigh twice, on Wednesday and on Saturday mornings before cheat. I noticed that I crave cheat days more in the beginning of the week and then at the end of the week I want them less. Thanks for everything and have a great weekend!
