The kettlebell swing is recomended to remove fat and build muscle. Can one exercise really achieve this?

The kettlebell swing is a compound exercise - you use legs, core, arms, shoulders etc.

Most of the fitness books I´ve ever read concurr that compound movements are the best for elliciting the maximum hormonal response from your body. So the answer to your question would be "yes" :)

The kettlebell swing is primarily a thigh, butt,and lower back exercise. I love it, but other then taxing the shoulders somewhat, it does very little for the muscles in the front of your body.

Remember that it's about achieving the MED (Minimum Effective Dose). Tim found that this is the smallest dose that will produce a desired outcome.

It's quite a small amount of exercise that will produce favorable results.
