Best diet ever so far!

I am coming up to the end of my second week and am pleased with the results thus far. My husband and I love to cook so we are experimenting to keep it interesting. I find I have to get up earlier to make breakfast, but I am sleeping well and don't seem to mind getting up 1 minutes earlier. I have rarely been hungry, and have good energy. We are not working out, just walking after dinner and doing gardening.

We bought some cans of beans for when we needed something fast for packed lunches etc, but we also make from fresh. I like lentils because I can mix with veggies and meat/fish to disguise them (not a huge fan of the bean/pea family). We have tried all kinds of beans, baked with tomatoes and garlic and herbs. We grow our own vegetables, so eat lots of salads with meals. Guacamole and spinach thrown into salads or other sidedishes has been a staple.

Today is cheat day. I didn't go crazy on my first cheat day - I ate like I used to. Sandwiches on skinny buns, eggs in the morning, pad thai at night - nothing quite like what is described in the book! I haven't had any cravings that I couldn't squash, mostly just icecream on a hot evening. But today I am going to a festival, and will seek out a caribbean roti, that is what I want on my cheat day!

So in less than 2 weeks I have lost 7 lbs, and my husband says my thighs and face are showing signs of weight loss. I don't see it, but I do feel a change in the way my underwear fits! Of all things!

Wow, 7 lbs in 2 weeks...that's awesome. Hubby and I just started the diet yesterday, so that gives me encouragement. I would like to lose about 10 to 15 lbs max (i'm 145, would like to be 130) and he has about 30 - 40 to lose. I think i will do like you, just have a cheat meal on saturday, eat some carbs and keep it sane..haha.
