Loving the 4HB!!!
Hi everyone, it's my 16th day on the SCD and I am so excited!
A little about me: I'm a 50 year old woman (yikes!) but most people think I'm about 40. Lol. I've always been thin (115-120 lbs) and some people may think I still am. About 3 years ago, due to my hormones changing and my thyroid taking a major dump, I gained about 10 lbs. I have tried everything to lose that weight. In fact, I have gained and lost the same 3 lbs over the last 3 years. I've also worked out for ever. 2 days with a trainer, 2 days doing a step/light weight class and 1 day playing tennis. I also run intermittently. Nothing seemed to take off those lbs.
Finally I've found an eating program that is working. In fact, my husband and daughter are both following the program. (my thin 17 year old son eats with us too but supplements with carbs- hes so thin). I've lost 4 real pounds, and 4 1/2 inches in the last 16 days! (I had dropped another pound before my last cheat day and pretty sure it will come off tomorrow).
This is not a diet to us. We love how we're eating. I am finally sleeping through the night again and have so much energy every day.
I love to cook and have been getting really creative with the foods. I motify a little because this is a lifestle for us now- not a diet. Also, this support forum is great and answers most of the questions I may have. You guys are awesome!

Congrats on your success with the SCD! I'm so glad that you've found a way of living that works well with your daily schedule and life. Well done on the work you've accomplished thus far, and I wish you all the best in the future to come. It's inspiring to hear success from the older generation, not just because we don't hear it often, but because it's a real honor to hear that people even at that age can accomplish great leaps in terms of weight loss. You are truly setting an example that the rest of us can follow, and I thank you for that!
