Right, I just started reading the 4hour body book (excellent I must say, already photographed my "before" look in my underwear, my breakfast, and already ordered scales that measure body fat/water and give carb suggestions)
- now the question-
I got to the chapter where it says "avoid everything white" - as a vegeterian, I think about 70% of what I consume is white- potatoes, pasta, potato/mushroom dumplings, bread, etc- and milk is also very important - take that away and I only have vegetables and beans more or less. If I do other stuff in the book will I still loose some weight? (I'm not obese or anything but yeah I have a "beer belly" and some fat below my chin) (no, I don't drink beer)

The key to the SCD is to avoid the carbs that contribute to fat gain. Since you are a vegetarian, you can't get by simply by doing the other things in the book. The main ingredients for the SCD are a type of bean, vegetables, and a protein. Soy is a good source of protein you could have, and you'd just need to eat that in conjunction with vegetables and beans. I know it sounds difficult to give up most of what you are used to eating, but you can't make progress if you don't make some sacrifices. I would give it a try for a week or so, find out if the diet is for you. You don't know until you try, and after a week or so you'll get into it more after you start seeing results. The reason you can't have all of those carbs that you are so used to is that they are essentially the biggest components that contribute to fat gain. Once they are cut, with the exception of your cheat day, you'd be surprised at how much weight is dropped. Read the book some more, get a feel for what the diet is about, then make a decision on whether or not you should undertake it. It's been done, many vegetarians undertake this diet, and so can you if you so choose to. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions that come to mind!
You can still do a lot of SC with no meat. SInce you have drank milk you can add in casein or whey (casein is better) protien mixes just be sure to watch for sugar. Pea protien is an excellent source - edemame, Tofu - The basic principle is to just stick to a few things and make it work. Is it boring? yeah for 6 days but you do get a day off! The key ot weight loss on SCD is getting in the protien though, the beans, the veggies are there to maintain the fullness. You already got the veggie part down. Just figure out how to add the protien.
