Any alternative to Pullovers?

My gym doesn't have dumbbells that go above 110 lbs, so I can't really proceed with the Pullover. Does anyone have ideas for an alternative exercise? I suppose I could try it with plates on an EZ bar, but I'm not sure if that'll work quite right.

Greetings!

Give THIS a try. If your gym's machines go heavier than the dumbbells you should be able to progress quite a bit.

Hope that helps some!

Cheers!

Oh, that'll do the trick. And I won't have to worry about dropping 100lbs on my face. Thanks!

The pullover was also the first exercise Nautilus equipment was designed for. If you've maxed out the DB's, you may jump on one of these machines, up the resistance, and maybe add a little super slow.

You can also do a pretty effective pullover w/ a straight barbell.

I'm trying to imagine a 110+ pound pullover! OY! When I was lifting heavy as a 20 year old I don't remember doing more than 75. But that said...

1. EZ bars are always a good choice. For a pullover, since you are on the bench with your hands over your head, the EZ bar will keep your elbows turned in enough to keep you from hurting yourself.

2. Do one arm pullovers. You have to watch your form twice as much, especially at high weights, but this will work.
