Hey now. As someone that has dealt with anxiety and depression (and continues to deal with it, because it never goes away), it was actually SCD and exercise that dug me out of it. Don't let a bad day or a bad week or even a bad month be what knocks you off the wagon. Get back on.

I used to eat and drink to deal with depression until I realized that every time I would finish a pizza, or a foam container of Chinese food, or a Cheeseburger and fries--all topped off with bourbon--that I would think to myself "Crap, now I feel worse".

Exercise causes your brain to release feel-good chemicals over time, which really bolsters the feel-good that comes with eating clean after you withdraw from processed food.

At the very least, if you're going to stop SCD, at least stick around the forums. You never know what may jump start you.

I deal with depression too and you took the words out of my mouth. I just want to emphasize that a slip up or even a month of slip ups probably won't knock you back to square one.

Aaaand, if you do start SCD again, I've found that my slip-ups happen when I'm over hungry and make bad decisions because of that. So keep that in mind. Good luck.

Why worry? Don't give up trying. The great thing about this lifestyle is you can wake up and begin again. Stay away from the scale for a while, and stick to it until your next cheat day. No matter what happens during your journey you can restart any time. If you lose some weight it should help with your self confidence and your depression. Good Luck, and chin up!

To start with when withdrawing from processed food it may make your depression worse but eating clean will definitely help and make you happier. Plus as the last poster said, losing weight will also give you a boost too. Try and stick with it!
