Clothing dilemma solved!

So before driving home for the holidays, I took almost all my clothes to salvation army, taking only several changes of clothes that are now also starting to be too loose. As it turns out, after digging through my dads old attic I found some pants and shirts from junior high more than 10 years ago that fit better than they ever did. After 3 months of SCD! This diet rocks! How is everyone else replacing the gaping holes in their wardrobe?

Hi Drew. I had / have a similar issue. I have dropped almost 90 pounds since beginning of January and recently took a 4x pile, 3x pile and 2x pile of clothes to Goodwill. Instead of buying new clothes, I am settling on buying clothes at thrift stores until my body settles in on a steady weight. It has been fun to get new/different clothes without the big expense and the stress of wondering whether I should spend all that money. The other day I went and got 2 pairs of pants and 3 shirts, for under $10.00.

My friends think I am nuts, but I am too cheap to invest in new clothing again until I am starting to get at a goal weight, whatever that may be.

I've been lucky the last 3 months of losing, i've had all the sizes in my closet, i don't throw anything away unfortunately, so i just look for the closet that has the next size clothes in it!

Mike, first of all congrats on 90lbs! thats amazing! I've also donated quite a few of my really large pants and shirts to goodwill. I really havent bought too many clothes asides from pants since I have been able to dig into the side of my closet which I havent used since college. I agree also that to spend money constantly on new clothes is hard when the weight is dropping constantly. I'm also waiting until I level out a bit somewhere before really digging into a new wardrobe.

Yep I'm doing the same thing. I actually went to 3 thrift places in my hometown to no avail. Pants are hard for me because I'm 6'1" but I have a very long torso and shorter legs. This means most 30-32" long are way too long and thrift store pants aren't worth getting shortened. Thankfully my pants from my teens are 29" :)

Drew, like I mentioned to Mike above, the only thing I've really had to go buying is pants since my old ones look like MC Hammer pants by now. I did keep one pair as reference though and as a bit of a reminder of how far I've come. As far as tops and shirts go I am digging now into my old college clothes, which I haven't fit into in years.

Haha I loled at MC Hammer pants. Yea back home I have a pair of my 46" hanging for scale to remind me of how much I hate being fat. Juan when you drop just a bit more belly fat you'll probably want new everything like I do right now. All my large and medium shirts poof out at the belly and I just want some stuff that's more form fitting since I now have this great bod to show off!

I'm having the same issue. Its a great issue to have :)

I pinned both sides of my clothes at the waist until I finally give them to someone or take them to the goodwill. I struggle when it comes to buying new clothes that I know will only fit me for such a short time. Lately I had someone give me a few clothes in my current size since they had lost weight due to a medical reason.

I only kept one " huge" outfit in my closet for my Awesome future "BEFORE" & "AFTER" pics that I will get to post here and on facebook. That outfit will always be a reminder of where I do NOT want to return too.

I was trying on my size 14's slacks/jeans yesterday for the first time in over 10-12 years i think. The legs were too big, but snug at the waist so i'm not there yet but wow!! I was wearing over size 18's when i started this diet! 30 pounds off now and more then 30 to go!!
