I made these this morning for breakfast, with a side of greens. They taste like potato pancakes and the onion gives them a nice bite. Easy and delicious! I used pesto on the crust and then loaded it up with vegies. I used a little cheese in the crust to make sure it came out crispy, but I didn't put cheese on top. To make cauliflower rice: boil cut up cauliflower, drain, put in food processor till it looks like rice! I use pesto with no nuts, or use low ca...

Does anyone have any recipe suggestions that would work in a slow cooker? Soups, stews, curries etc? I've tried a few (chicken or beef with veges and a tomato base) and they have been ok but slightly lacking in flavour. Is it OK to cook with wine? I'm not drinking a daily glass of wine so figure it might be OK in cooki...

Being able to put gravy over the beans, especially red and pinto beans, would really spice things up for me. Hell, think how easy it would be -- just stir fry some hamburger and mix in a bunch of beans. Pour gravy over it. Has anyone seen gravy mixes that are SCD compliant? I've got a box of gravy mix packets from when ...

Pasta is cheap and easy to make and I missed it after going slow carb. Until I found out about spaghetti squash. . With 5g carbs per half cup and a GI less than 20, it's great for Slow Carbers. It's a fascinating vegetable too. Just buy one, cut it in half (length wise) seed it and pop it in the oven rind up at 375 for 35/40...

Since I started SCD I have been cooking more often. However when I shop I try to pick items that require the least preparation. On Wednesdays Longos has a special on a whole cooked BBQ chicken for $6.99. I usually grab 2 and that provides me with a good amount of my protein for the next 2 to 3 days. I also found cooked...

You could make them pretty mild or much spicier if you add a hot pepper or pepper sauce to the seasoning. Mexican Stuffed Peppers 1 TB olive olive 8 bell peppers 1 onion 2 portabella ...

If anyone shops at Cost-co, you might have stumbled upon the "Tasty Bite" Madras Lentils. You get 4 packages for $10 and they take 90 secs to heat up in the microwave. Nothing in the goes against the diet, just lentils, beans and tomato sauce. These have saved my ass for work lunches!
